The SOS CHILDRENS VILLAGE GHANA on the 2nd August, 2018 had a working Session to develop an “Advocacy Strategy for Managing Child Streetism in Ghana” with stakeholders.

SOS Children’s Villages (CV) Ghana is a Non-profit, Non-Governmental, Non-Denominational social development organization which focuses on the welfare of underprivileged children by providing care and support to those who have lost or are at a risk of losing parental care.

The working session focused on discussing and validating a preliminary situational analysis for the development of a comprehensive Advocacy Strategy that will further contribute to reducing the child streetism phenomenon in Ghana. In working to ensure and address the issue of getting the children off the street for a better life, civil society organizations, government institutions and agencies, development partners, media and the SOS volunteers and staff actively participated.

Founder and CEO of Strategic Communication Africa Ltd (STRATCOMM), Madam Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah facilitate the sessions. Methodology for the event included breakout session, presentations and focused group discussions.

The session came to an end with an activity that sought to highlight the importance of collective responsibility. Child Streetism in Ghana will soon be a thing of the past with “the advocacy strategy for managing streetism” effectively and practically working.
